Simulator Expectations

Cirrus Simulator

What You Should Bring:

Our simulator uses headsets for communication with "ATC" and thus we encourage our clients to bring headsets that they find comfortable. It should be noted, however, that the simulator uses a standard 2 plug jack and does not have the single jack which many Bose headsets utilize in Cirrus aircraft. If you do not have a headset with 2 jack plugs, we can provide a set for you.

We encourage you to bring a kneeboard to utilize just as you would during a normal flight in your airplane. Should you have specialized checklists that differ from the Cirrus-issued version, please bring those as well. Any other gadgets that you find useful while flying may also come with you and we encourage clients to bring along anything they'd like to "try out" in a controlled situation. Please remember the sim is indoors and thus portable GPS units will not function.

Bring a light jacket. While it may be 100 degrees outside, our sim room is kept rather cool (around 70) to keep the computers from overheating.

We can provide Jeppesen charts printed via Jepp View for missions that take place outside of your normal operating area.

How It Works:

Our usual day of training in the simulator is quite similar to the method used by corporate and airline sim training companies. When you first arrive for training, our instructor will discuss training objectives, methods, and key points prior to starting the sim session. Typically this discussion occupies the first 30 to 60 minutes of any session.

Once a thorough pre-brief is completed, the simulator session will begin. Typical sim sessions last from 1 to 2.5 hours.

After the first sim session is complete, a post-brief of about 30 minutes will be completed and then a break for lunch will occur. Clients utilizing our half-day rates will be complete at this point. Clients training for a full day will continue training after lunch with a similar schedule to the first half of the day.

Visitors and Observers:
You are welcome to bring observers for your sim session. Pilots that wish to bring along a flying partner to practice a CRM style operation are invited to do so. Our sim room will only accommodate a maximum of two outside observers since space is limited for safety reasons.

Rates:
Simulator: $150.00 per hobbs hour
Instruction: $675.00 per day with our Cirrus Standardized Instructors.

Call us! (866) 557-1501 ext. 2 to book time in our simulator.
